Prompt #3

By the time students who are in college now receive their teaching degrees and have their own classroom, the students that they will be teaching have all grown up in the world of technology. Although books are not completely foreign, they spend hours upon hours searching the web and using technology. As a teacher, I think it would be helpful to assign homework that requires students to use technology. By this I don't mean using Facebook or Twitter but using online Encyclopedias or workbooks to complete their assignments. By doing this it allows students to familiarize themselves with the educational part of technology, not just the entertainment side. Many people do not like how fast technology is advancing because they believe we are losing our traditional ways. Even though this may be true, as teachers, it is our job to provide our students with the skills they need to survive in the future.  In this case, the future of being completely reliable on technology.
