Prompt #1

Technology has become the backbone of the world. Now days you see children who are 10 and 11 and already have their own cell phones when I did not have my own cell phone until I was 15. It is amazing to see the progress of technology but it can also be concerning especially once you get into a classroom. Students are now so use to having everything at their fingertips. If they have a question they can just type it into the search engine on Google. If they are not sure where to eat they can find a list of nearby restaurants on their ipad, and if they need to reply to a text message but are not hands free they can speak to their smart phones and tell them to send a text. Because students are becoming very familiar with technology, it is important to make sure teachers are technology savvy and are also using different types of technology to teach their students. I believe that technology is kind of like evolution. The human brain will soon learn better by technology than it would if it were taught "old school." By using technology in the classroom, teachers can better prepare their students for their futures.
